A lot has happened since my last post. First of all, I have got all of my fabric. After several issues with fabric choice, colours, patterns and styles and the like I have chosen a pink sequined fabric for Tracy and a pink lace fabric with sequins, backed onto a bright pink stretch fabric. They are going to look awesome if I do say so myself. The only thing is, I have to take all the sequins that are on the sewing line off so I can sew the seams with ease. Nightmare! It took FOREVER to take them off Tracy's dress. One and a half days doesn't sound like long but when you have been staring at sequins for all that time, constantly, it is a VERY long time. My house is covered in sequins. I'm even finding them in the shower. THE SHOWER! Madness. It will be worth it though.
So after all that, I constructed Tracy's dress. I have to say I got very excited when I saw it all sewn together. I'm having a fitting with Steph on Monday so hopefully that means I can get it finished soon.

Thankfully, the fabric I'm using for Edna doesn't have as many sequins as Tracy's. The sequins on this fabric are so small they won't cause any difficulties when sewing. I did, however, take off the larger sequins. There weren't many of them so it didn't take too long but my heart did sink when the tub I put them in fell on the floor. Gutted. Absolutely gutted. Sequins everywhere. I am just grateful it was the sequins from Edna's dress (which, like I said, weren't many and I don't necessary need to sew them back on) because I think I would have cried if I had dropped the tub with Tracy's sequins in. Ah well. I will hopefully have a fitting with Gareth next week too.
